If you're comparing daycare management platforms, here's how to test-drive NestliCare in a week without committing to anything.

## Start with the 10-minute test

Before reading feature lists, do this:

1. Sign up at [nestlicare.com](https://nestlicare.com) — no credit card, takes 2 minutes
2. Add **one** real family with **one** child
3. Invite one teacher
4. Have the teacher log one check-in, one meal, and one photo from their phone
5. Open the parent view — check the feed looks right
6. Generate a test invoice; mark it paid offline

If steps 1–6 feel natural, you'll be fine with the rest. If any step feels clunky, that's the best signal — message us via the chat bubble and we'll walk through it with you.

## Who NestliCare is best for

NestliCare is built for daycares that want **simplicity, transparency, and a flat-fee economic model**. The fit is strongest for:

- **Home-based and small-to-medium centers** (1–100 children). The interface is designed for one admin running the show, not a five-layer corporate hierarchy.
- **Centers moving on from a legacy tool** where the monthly subscription got unaffordable or the UI felt dated.
- **New centers opening for the first time** — the Getting Started flow gets you from nothing to running your first day in ~2 hours.
- **Centers where parents want one tool, not five** — we combine check-in, messaging, invoicing, and the daily feed in one app so families aren't juggling separate passwords.

## Where we're *not* a fit

It's worth being direct:

- **Very large franchise chains** (500+ children across 10+ centers with corporate reporting across all of them). Our multi-center UX works, but a chain with corporate finance might outgrow it. If that's you — talk to us before deciding, we'll be honest about what works and what doesn't.
- **Centers that need deep state-specific regulatory reporting** beyond standard CACFP + ratio reports. We have the basics; we don't have every state's unique forms built in.
- **Centers that need deeply custom integrations** (custom SIS, deep Quickbooks two-way sync beyond export). Our integration surface is deliberate and narrow.

If one of the above describes you, ask us directly via the chat widget. We'll either tell you honestly that we're not ready for your case, or build it if it makes sense.

## What to try during your evaluation week

A good evaluation week covers five touchpoints:

1. **Morning check-in** — have a teacher check a child in from their phone, with a parent signature
2. **Daily activity** — log a meal, nap, diaper, and photo; verify the parent sees them
3. **Messaging** — send a parent message, have them reply
4. **End-of-month billing** — generate an invoice, have a parent pay it (use Stripe test mode; we'll set you up)
5. **Reports** — pull an attendance report, a ratios report, and a data-health check

If all five feel right, you've got your answer. Our experience: centers who get through all five in their trial week almost always stay.

## Common objections we hear

**"We're worried about switching mid-year."** Fair. The good news: you don't have to all-at-once. Keep your old system for historical reference, cut over for new families and billing forward. See [Switching from other daycare software](/getting-started/switching-from-other-software) for the week-by-week playbook.

**"Free sounds too good, what's the catch?"** No catch. The software is free for every daycare, no subscription. The only platform cost is a standard online-payment convenience fee (2.9% + $0.50 on cards, 1% capped at $6 on bank transfers), the same kind every online payment processor charges. Cash and check have zero fee. See [Pricing](/getting-started/pricing).

**"What if you disappear in 2 years?"** Export your data any time from **Settings → Data Export**. We'll never hold it hostage. (Also: we run lean, so we're not dependent on VC runway.)

**"We have 300 kids across 8 centers, does this work?"** Probably yes, but this is where an honest conversation beats a feature list. Message us through the chat bubble — we'll tell you whether we're ready for your scale, and if we're not, we'll tell you that too.

**"Our current system has a feature X you don't."** Ask us. Half the time it's there and not obvious; half the time it's on the roadmap; occasionally we've decided not to build it for a good reason.
