Closures, field trips, and picture days matter most when they show up where families already look: their own phone's calendar. Calendar Sharing gives every parent and staff member a private link they can add to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook, so your events appear alongside their own.

It's on by default. There's nothing to set up — just tell people where the button is.

## How someone subscribes

1. Open **Calendar** in NestliCare on the web.
2. Click **Subscribe** at the top of the page.
3. Pick **Add to Google Calendar**, **Add to Apple Calendar or Outlook**, or **Copy feed link** to paste anywhere else.

That's it. From then on, events you publish flow into their calendar automatically.

## What each person sees

The link shows each person exactly what they see inside NestliCare — no more, no less. A parent's feed carries events for their children's centers and rooms plus anything you share with all families; a teacher's feed carries staff-visible events. Holidays and closures follow your **Show Holidays to Parents** setting.

Each link is private to the person who created it. If a parent leaves your program or a staff member is deactivated, their link stops working on its own.

## Turning it off

If you'd rather families not subscribe, go to **Settings → Operations → Calendar** and turn off **Calendar Sharing**. Every link that's already been shared stops working immediately. Turn it back on and the same links work again.

## Good to know

- **New events can take a few hours to appear.** Calendar apps refresh subscribed feeds on their own schedule — usually a few times a day. The NestliCare app always shows changes instantly; the subscribed copy catches up.
- **It's read-only.** Nobody can edit or add events through the link, only see them.
- **The link is worth guarding.** Anyone who has a person's link can read the events that person sees, so tell families to treat it like any private link and not to post it publicly.
