When a parent hits Reply on an email you sent with the **Email family** button, the reply comes back into NestliCare, not just to your inbox. You'll find it in three places:

- **The bell.** The entry reads "*Parent name* replied". Click it to open the conversation. The same alert reaches your phone as a push notification.
- **The family's card.** Open the envelope on the family card and switch to the **History** tab. The conversation with the new reply has a green dot; click **Open conversation** to read it.
- **Sent emails.** On **Families & Children → Families**, click **Sent emails**. Unanswered replies are counted at the top and marked with a green dot.

You also get a copy of the reply in your own email inbox, with an **Open the conversation in NestliCare** button.

**Answer from inside NestliCare** (the reply box at the bottom of the conversation) so the whole exchange stays on record. If you reply to the emailed copy from your own mail program, the parent still gets your answer, but that answer is not saved in NestliCare.

If a reply hasn't shown up: only the parents the email went to, and the other verified parents in that family, can reply into a conversation. A reply sent from a different address is discarded. Ask the parent to reply from the address the email was sent to.

Replies are not shown in the mobile apps yet; read and answer them on the web. Full details in [Email a family and keep a record](/owners/families/email-a-family).
