Open the invoice and read its lines; the answer is almost always one of these:

- **A credit was applied.** Credits come off automatically at generation, as a labeled credit line. The forecast on the Upcoming view shows amounts before credits, so a family with credit on file will always come in under the forecast number.
- **A discount fired.** Sibling discounts apply to the younger children by age order; family-specific and enrollment-type discounts show as their own lines.
- **A subsidy line.** The agency's share is deducted from what the family owes and tracked as a claim to the agency instead.
- **Only some children are on a billing plan.** This is the sneaky one: a family where one child has a plan and a sibling does not still generates an invoice, covering only the child with the plan. Billing looks healthy while the family is underbilled. The coverage warning in the Auto-Invoice Generation panel names these families.

Fix the plan or rule, void the wrong invoice if needed, and bill the difference manually; invoices already generated keep their original figures.
