A parent added you to their family, so you can drop off and pick up their child. At the door you use your own 4-digit pickup code.

Two things to know:

1. **It stays the same until someone resets it.** Learn it once.
2. **It works every day at the door tablet.** Nobody has to approve you first.

## Find your code

**With the app:**

1. Open the **Dashboard** tab.
2. Your 4-digit code is on the **YOUR PICKUP CODE** banner at the top.

**Without the app:** you don't need it. The parent who added you can read your code to you from **Me → Family Pickup Codes** in their app. See [Share a pickup code with a family member](/parents/account/share-a-pickup-code-with-family).

## At the door tablet

1. Type your 4-digit code on the number pad.
2. You'll see each child. Tap **Check in** (or **Check out**) next to each one. To do all of them, tap **Check in all**.
3. If the daycare asks for a signature, sign with your finger and tap **Confirm**. One signature covers all the children.
4. Tap **Done**.

## Messages from the daycare

The daycare can message you, for example about a pickup. Open the **Messages** tab to read and reply. You can also start a chat with the daycare from there.

## Reset your code

Think someone saw your code, or lost your phone? Reset it.

1. On the **Dashboard** tab, find the **YOUR PICKUP CODE** banner.
2. Tap **New code** and confirm. Your old code stops working right away.

You can reset up to 5 times an hour. The parent who added you can also reset it from **Family Pickup Codes**.

Your code shows the daycare that it's you at the door. Don't post it in group chats. If it spreads, reset it.

## If you're taken off the family

Only the daycare can remove you from a family. When they do, your app access ends and your code stops working.

## Troubleshooting

**"Couldn't load your code."** Check your internet, then close and reopen the app.

**The tablet says "Code not recognized."** Try again slowly. If it still fails, your code may have been reset. Check the app, or ask the parent to read it from **Family Pickup Codes**.

**I'm out of resets.** Ask the daycare. They can check it's you and reset the code.
