If your child needs medicine during the day, you can ask the daycare in the NestliCare app instead of filling in a paper form at drop-off. You say what to give, how much, and when, and sign it on your phone. Staff review it before the first dose, and every dose they give shows up in your child's feed.

It keeps a signed record of what you authorized, for you and for the daycare.

## Send a request

1. Open **Medication**:
   - iPhone: on your **Dashboard**, in the **Medication** section.
   - Android: tap **Me**, then **Medication** under your children.
   - Web: the **Medication** card on your home page.
2. Tap **Ask to give medication**.
3. Fill in:
   - **Medication** and **Dosage**, for example "Amoxicillin" and "5 ml".
   - **How it's given**: by mouth, on the skin, inhaled, eye drops, ear drops, nasal, or other.
   - **Reason**, if you'd like staff to know.
   - **When**: add one or more times of day, or choose **As needed** and say when to give it, for example "fever over 101°F".
   - **Start date** and **End date**. The end date is required. A request can cover up to one year.
   - **Prescription**: turn it on and add the prescriber's name if it is a prescription.
   - **Instructions** and **Storage**, for example "give with food" or "keep in the fridge".
4. Draw your signature with your finger and type your full legal name.
5. Tap **Send**. The request shows **Waiting for review**.

Bring the medication to the daycare as usual. Your daycare may have its own rules about original containers and labels.

## What happens next

- When staff agree to it, the request changes to **Active** and you get a notification.
- If staff can't accept it as written, it shows **Declined** with their reason, for example "Please bring the original bottle with the pharmacy label." Send a new request with the changes.
- Each dose staff give appears in your child's feed as a **Medication** entry with the time and amount. Open the request to see every dose given so far.
- After the end date, the request shows **Ended** on its own.

## Cancel a request

Open the request and tap **Cancel request**. Staff stop giving the medication under it. You can cancel a request that is waiting for review or active.

## Troubleshooting

- **I don't see "Ask to give medication".** Only a parent with full access to the child's account can send or cancel a request. Ask the parent who invited you, or your daycare, to change your access.
- **"The end date has already passed."** Pick an end date today or later.
- **I didn't get a notification when staff answered.** Check that notifications are on for NestliCare and that **Incidents** is turned on in your notification settings in the app; medication updates use that switch.
- **The daycare entered the medication for me.** Sometimes staff record a paper or verbal permission you gave them. Those requests show **Entered by staff** and have no signature from you.
