Newsletters and announcements

How newsletters and announcements from your daycare reach you, where to find past ones in the app, and how to control which notifications you receive.

Daycares use two ways to share updates with you:

  • Newsletters — longer monthly-buzz-style updates. You get them as email and in your parent app feed.
  • Announcements — quick notes from your daycare ("picnic moved to Saturday", "weather closure tomorrow"). These show in your app feed with an optional push notification. They don't go to your email by default.

Both appear in the same daily feed in the parent app, alongside your child's activities.

Where to find them

In the NestliCare parent app:

  1. Open the app, you land on the Home tab.
  2. Scroll the feed — newsletters show with a 📰 icon, announcements with a 📢 icon.
  3. Tap a card to read the full body.

Newsletters and announcements stay in your feed indefinitely, so you can scroll back to last month's update when you need to reread the holiday hours.

Choose which ones notify you

You're in control of which categories ping your phone. The category names below match the toggles in your settings.

In the parent app: Profile → Notifications.

ToggleWhat it controls
Push NotificationsMaster switch — turn off and nothing pings your phone, regardless of the toggles below
NewslettersWhether you get the email when your daycare sends a newsletter. Newsletters always show in your feed regardless
Announcements (under "Newsletters")Push when your daycare posts an announcement. They always show in your feed regardless

Of the two, only newsletters are delivered by email. If you turn off the Newsletters toggle, the email stops, but you'll still see them in your feed when you open the app.

Why didn't I get an email for a newsletter?

A few things to check, in this order:

  1. Check your app feed first. The newsletter is probably there. If you're seeing it in the app, the daycare sent it correctly — only the email path needs investigating.
  2. Look at your notification preferences. Profile → Notifications → make sure Newsletters is on.
  3. Check spam/promotions. Some email apps route mass-sent emails to a separate folder. The sender will look like your daycare's name.
  4. Confirm with your daycare that the newsletter was sent to your audience. Daycares can target newsletters to a specific center or room — if you're not in that group, you won't receive it.

Why am I getting too many announcements?

Turn off Announcements under Profile → Notifications. They'll stop pinging your phone but still appear in your feed when you open the app.

If you want fewer announcements overall, that's a conversation with your daycare — they decide what's worth a broadcast.

Where notifications fit in your wider settings

The Notifications screen also covers other event types: check-in/out alerts, incidents, billing, daily activities, and room transfers. The Important section is on by default so you don't miss critical updates. The Optional section is off by default — flip the ones you want on.
