Daily opening and closing checklists

Turn your opening, closing and other daily routines into checklists your team ticks off on the web or in the app, with a record of who did each item and when.

Daily Checklists are the routines your center runs every day: unlocking and walking through in the morning, cleaning and locking up at night, or anything else you want done and recorded. You build each list once, and every day it is due your team ticks the items off. Each tick keeps the name of the person who did it and the time.

You'll find it under Organization → Daily Checklists in the sidebar.

Make a checklist

  1. Go to Organization → Daily Checklists.
  2. If you have no lists yet, click Start with Opening or Start with Closing to begin from a sample, or Blank checklist. Otherwise click New checklist.
  3. Give it a name and pick Opening, Closing or Other.
  4. Under For, choose The whole center or one room. A room's list shows for everyone at the center, with the room name on it.
  5. Pick the Days it is due. Weekdays are selected to start with.
  6. Optionally set Done by. After that time, a list that isn't finished shows as past due.
  7. Add your items. Press Enter to add the next one, and use the arrows to reorder.
  8. Click Create checklist.

The samples are a starting point. Edit the items to match your own routine and your state's rules.

Tick items off

On the web: open Organization → Daily Checklists. Today's lists are at the top. Click an item to tick it, and click again to untick it.

In the phone apps: teachers see a Today's Checklists card on the Dashboard tab with each list's progress. Tap a list to open it, then tap items to tick them. Admins open the same lists from the Admin tab → Daily checklists.

Anyone on staff at the center can tick any item, so opening can be shared between whoever arrives first. If two people tick the same item, the first person's name is kept.

Teachers can tick today's lists, or yesterday's if a close ran past midnight. Admins can fill in any earlier day from the web by going back with the arrows next to the date.

See what was done

Below your lists, Last 14 days shows every day each list was due: how many items were done, who ticked them, and which items were missed. Click a day to open it at the top of the page.

Change or retire a list

Click the pencil on a list under Your checklists to edit it. Renaming or reordering an item keeps the days already ticked.

To stop using a list, click the archive icon. It disappears from today, but past days keep their record. Tick Show archived to find it again and Restore it.

Building and editing lists is on the web only. The phone apps are for ticking.
