Can auto-invoicing double-bill a family?

Not on its own. Mixing manual invoices with auto-generation used to, so a family you already billed by hand now gets the automatic invoice as a draft, and the first run after you turn it on is never sent.

On its own, no. The generator runs a few times each morning but creates each family's invoice for a period exactly once, and a voided invoice is never recreated.

The risk is mixing manual and automatic billing for the same period: the generator's duplicate check only covers its own invoices (invoices from the Generate invoices button count as its own). Three things now stop that becoming a double bill:

  • A family you already billed tuition by hand for the same period (or, with no period on the invoice, in the week before it starts) gets the automatic invoice as a draft, not sent, even with Auto-Send on. You are notified, and you void whichever one you don't need. An invoice counts as tuition if it has a tuition line or is at least half the automatic amount; a small one-off charge like a field trip doesn't hold anything.
  • The Upcoming view marks them with an Already billed? badge before the run, and the Next automatic run card on the Invoices page counts them, so you can Skip them in advance.
  • The first run after you turn on auto-generation or Auto-Send is always drafts. That's the week you are most likely to have billed already, by hand or on your old platform.

NestliCare can't see invoices from another platform, so skip those families yourself for the first cycle.

If a double-bill already happened, void the duplicate. The generator will not bring it back.
